How long would your money last?

The question underneath every long trip. Put your own numbers in, and this works out how long they would last.

It is arithmetic, not advice. We do not suggest what any of these numbers should be, because we do not know your circumstances and are not qualified to. Nothing you type is sent anywhere, and nothing is kept after you close the tab, which is why this page is not listed on the storage page: there is nothing to list.

What this does, exactly

Each month it adds any growth, adds your income, then takes off your spending, and counts how many months pass before the pot reaches nothing. That is the whole model. It runs for a maximum of sixty years, and if the money outlasts that it says so rather than printing a number nobody could plan around.

What it deliberately does not do is tell you what a month costs in any particular country. Every country page here carries a price band rather than a figure, because we have not verified daily costs yet, and a plausible number would be worth less than no number. When we have spent them ourselves, from 2027, the figures will appear with their workings.

This is a calculator, not financial advice, and not a recommendation to invest or to travel. See the terms.
