About
We're Phil and H, and we're leaving the UK in 2027 to travel long-term — Southeast Asia first, then wherever the good months point.
We couldn't find one place that answered where's good, when, and what it'll cost without selling us something. So we built it. We're the first users: every tool here is one we needed ourselves, and everything on the site gets tested against our own trip before it ships.
We also make a podcast
It's called Phil and H Travel — Is It Worth It?, and it asks the question this site spends its whole time answering. Is it worth it? Depends when you go.
We take somewhere different each time and go through it properly: the months worth going for, the months that are cheap enough to make up for the weather, and the ones where you'd be paying full price to stand in a queue. Same three answers as the country pages here, said out loud instead of drawn in a table.
How it's made, since you'd find out anyway: the research, the opinions and the calls are ours. The voices you hear are not. We build each episode with an AI tool called NotebookLM, which turns what we've written into two people talking. We'd rather say so than let you work it out and wonder what else we hadn't mentioned.
The main feed is on Spotify, and it goes out from there to Apple Podcasts, Audible, YouTube and the rest.
How it's funded
The site is free and stays free. Some links will earn us a small commission if you book through them — those are always labelled "Ad", they cost you nothing, and they never change what we show or the order we show it in. That's the entire business model, and if it ever changes, this page changes first.
What we don't do
No account needed, no tracking you around the internet, no invented prices, no summarised safety advice, no "top 10 hidden gems". The method page has the full list of things we refuse to do.
