How to read this site
Most travel sites tell you where to go. This one tells you when.
Green months are a country at its peak: the weather everyone comes for, and the crowds and prices that come with it.
Yellow months are the ones worth knowing about. The peak has passed, prices come down, and the weather is still worth having. Same country, cheaper month, fewer people.
Red is a month we’d tell you to skip. An unmarked month just means nothing stands out either way.
A month is never both green and yellow. That’s the whole idea.

Bands, not fake precision: we publish daily-budget figures only once we’ve verified them — ours, from the road, starting 2027. Until then, no invented numbers.

★ Cheap sweet spot — the months this site exists for: the peak has passed, prices come down, and the weather is still worth having. Rarely the same months as the peak — that gap is where the savings live.
✓ Peak season — the most reliably good weather a country has: dry seasons, bearable heat, the windows locals would pick. And the crowds and prices that come with being the month everyone else picks too.
✕ Avoid — monsoon peaks, dangerous heat, or the one month everyone regrets. We’d rather say it plainly than sell you a washout.

Why this exists
We’re Phil and H, and we’re leaving the UK in 2027 to travel long-term — Southeast Asia first, then wherever the good months point. We couldn’t find one place that answered where’s good, when, and what it’ll cost without selling us something, so we built it. We’re the first users: every tool here is one we needed ourselves. It’s free, and it stays free. We also make a podcast, Is It Worth It? — and the short answer, most of the time, is: depends when you go.
